Jamestown Rediscovery offers special tours and programs that go in-depth into the process of rediscovering Jamestown in addition to our daily walking tours. Join Dr. William Kelso, Emeritus Director of Archaeology and Research, for an exclusive Tales of the Silver Shovel Tour highlighting the momentous discoveries made over the past 25 years. Or get an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the artifact collection of James Fort in the Curator’s Artifact Tour. Learn more about how the team solves colonial cold cases on Forensic Fridays, which includes a lecture and visit to the Archaearium museum. A Century of Women in Archaeology at Jamestown highlights the excavation of Jamestown’s churches and the role women have played in archaeology since 1897 through a talk and site visit. All of these programs are offered on selected days from April through October. If you are planning a family reunion, do professional research, or belong to a book club and would like a personalized tour, our education team can also plan a custom tour of the site to meet your group’s interests.
