Senior Staff Archaeologist Mary Anna Hartley teaches a hands-on lesson at the Ed Shed.

At the Ed Shed, young visitors can sort through artifacts from the excavation sites, pick through 17th century food remains to find evidence of what people ate, use geographic technology to map archaeological features, and more! Families will have hands-on learning experiences with the various activities at the Ed Shed. The artifacts that visitors interact with at the Ed Shed will be real pieces of Jamestown history, not reproductions.

Admission

Visiting the Ed Shed is included with the purchase of any admission ticket to Historic Jamestowne. The Ed Shed has limited space so we ask that groups larger than 10 cycle through the building in smaller groups.

Location

The Ed Shed is located is on the western side of the main historical area (toward the right after crossing the footbridge from the Visitor Center). It is just outside of the western palisade wall reconstruction, next to the Hunt Shrine.

Hours

Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00am–4:30pm

The Ed Shed is open from May 31-August 6, 2022.
