Group Admission Fees

Group admission fees are per-person. Bus drivers and commercial tour guides are granted free admission. Visit the Colonial National Historical Park website for information on National Park Service academic fee waivers for school groups and other bona fide educational institutions.

As a result of significant policy change required by the National Park Service, purchasing admission to Historic Jamestowne will be a two-step process. Beginning Thursday, December 7, visitors will be required to purchase two separate tickets: one from Jamestown Rediscovery (Preservation Virginia) and one from the National Park Service. An NPS ticket is required to pass through the Visitor Center and pedestrian footbridge to access Jamestown Rediscovery (Preservation Virginia).

Group Visit Request

Fill out the Group Visit Request Form to reserve time for your group. We will respond to confirm or discuss alternate dates or times.


Group Visit Information

Your group is welcome to join any public tours or programs scheduled during your visit.  We cannot provide private tours or group site guides at this time.

DAY OF ARRIVAL

Plan to arrive during your scheduled time slot but no earlier than entrance gate hours. Send a representative to check in at the ticketing counter. Representatives will need to provide payment and an accurate headcount of adults and children.

PAYMENT

Groups can purchase admission at the Visitor Center on the day of their visit. Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and checks made to Preservation Virginia are accepted. Payment is required prior to entry. <!–Groups may also use our Online Tickets portal to purchase tickets up to 7 days in advance. –>

Schools or other bona fide educational institutions may be eligible for an academic fee waiver through the National Park Service. Details and the application are available on the Colonial National Historical Park website.

DINING

There are picnic tables around the Visitor Center parking lot for small groups.

The waterfront Dale House Café is available for onsite dining with admission purchase. If you want to purchase boxed lunches or make accommodations for a group, please contact the Dale House directly at (757) 229-1170. No outside food is permitted in the cafe or on the grounds. 

PARKING 

Free daytime parking is available for cars, motor coaches, and school buses. Overnight parking and camping are not permitted.

Bus parking is located on the far eastern side of the parking lot. Bus drivers should follow the signs to the bus loop for drop-offs and pick-ups. Please do not block traffic or drop off guests in the parking lot for safety reasons. 

YOUTH GROUPS

Historic Jamestowne is an active archaeological site. Please be respectful of the sensitive and fragile nature of the burials, historic structures, and archaeological features. Parents, guides, and chaperones are responsible for ensuring children’s and students’ safety and appropriate behavior.

NPS ACADEMIC FEE WAIVER

UNFORESEEN PARK CLOSINGS/EVENT OR TOUR CANCELLATIONS

Historic Jamestowne is primarily an outdoor site subject to occasional severe weather or hazardous conditions. There are instances when we must close the park or cancel specific tours or programs for the safety of visitors and staff. Please check our website or social media prior to arrival for updates on operations and scheduled events.
