Please fill out the Group Visit Request Form to reserve time for your visit.
We are unable to provide group site guides at this time. Your group is welcome to join any public tours scheduled during your visit. Youth groups are not permitted in the Archaearium museum.
DAY OF ARRIVAL
Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before any scheduled event your group wishes to attend, but no earlier than entrance gate hours. Send a representative to check in at the ticketing counter. Representatives will need to provide payment (or an order number for online tickets) and an accurate headcount of adults and children. If applicable, school groups will need to present a physical copy of their approved academic fee waiver.
Groups can purchase admission at the Visitor Center on the day of their visit. Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and checks made to Preservation Virginia are accepted. Payment is required prior to entry. Groups may also use our Online Tickets portal to purchase tickets up to 7 days in advance.
Schools or other bona fide educational institutions may be eligible for an academic fee waiver through the National Park Service. Details and the application are available on the Colonial National Historical Park website.
Picnic tables are available around the Visitor Center parking lot for small groups. Picnicking is not permitted beyond the Visitor Center.
The Dale House Café is available for onsite dining. If you want to purchase boxed lunches or make accommodations for a group, please contact the Dale House directly at (757) 229-1170. No outside food is permitted in the cafe or on the grounds.
Free daytime parking is available for cars, motor coaches, and school buses. Follow the signs upon arrival for appropriate parking locations. Overnight parking and camping is not allowed.
Parents, guides, and chaperones are responsible for ensuring children and students’ safety and appropriate behavior.

ARCHAEARIUM MUSEUM POLICY
Youth groups are not permitted in the Archaearium museum.
NPS ACADEMIC FEE WAIVER
Schools or other bona fide educational institutions may be eligible for an academic fee waiver through the National Park Service. Details and the application are available on the Colonial National Historical Park website. Waiver requests must be made at least a month in advance. An approved waiver provides free admission* to teachers, students, and one chaperone for every ten students. Additional guests are required to pay the general admission fee. Bring a physical copy of the approved waiver with you when you check-in.
*NPS Academic Fee Waivers do not include access to the Archaearium museum, owned and operated by Preservation Virginia.
UNFORESEEN PARK CLOSINGS/EVENT OR TOUR CANCELLATIONS
Historic Jamestowne is primarily an outdoor site subject to occasional severe weather or hazardous conditions. There are instances when we must close the park or cancel specific tours or programs for the safety of visitors and staff. Please check our website or social media prior to arrival for updates on operations and scheduled events.
