Group Information

Update:

Beginning May 20, 2022, commercial tour permits are no longer sold per vehicle. Commercial operators will be charged based on regular admission fees.

Please note that we are unable to provide site guides at this time, and school groups are not permitted in the Archaearium museum. We offer Virtual Classroom Programs for students to get an in-depth educational experience of Jamestown right from their classroom.

STUDENT GROUPS

Teachers and chaperones must continuously monitor their groups to maintain student safety and appropriate behavior.

ARCHAEARIUM MUSEUM POLICY

School groups are not permitted in the Archaearium museum.

DAY OF ARRIVAL

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before any scheduled event your group wishes to attend, but no earlier than entrance gate hours. Send a representative to check in at the ticketing counter. Representatives will need to provide payment (or an order number if online tickets were purchased) and an accurate headcount of adults (guests 16 and older) and children. If applicable, schools will need to present a physical copy of their academic fee waiver.

Large groups are asked to please wait outside to avoid crowding in the Visitor Center. If they must enter for use of the facilities, please encourage smaller groups in turns.

DINING

Picnic tables are available around the Visitor Center parking lot for small groups. Picnicking is not permitted beyond the Visitor Center.

The Dale House Café is located on the grounds near the Fort for groups who wish to purchase food onsite. Visitors must purchase admission for access. Outside food is not allowed at the Dale House.

PARKING

Free daytime parking is available for cars, motor coaches, and school buses. Follow the signs upon arrival for appropriate parking locations. Overnight parking and camping is not allowed.

UNFORESEEN PARK CLOSINGS/EVENT OR TOUR CANCELLATIONS

Historic Jamestowne is primarily an outdoor site subject to occasional severe weather or hazardous conditions. There are instances when we must close the park or cancel specific tours or programs for the safety of visitors and staff. Please check our website or social media prior to arrival for updates on operations and scheduled events. Tickets are non-refundable.
