Yeardley House Stair Rehabilitation Project

Deadline: February 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. ET

Preservation Virginia’s Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation (JRF) seeks professional services to improve access to the historic Yeardley House. Current concrete steps to the building’s front entrance are irregular and not up to current code. Jamestown Rediscovery is requesting a skilled, licensed and insured contractor to construct stairs atop the existing concrete using the architectural plans provided in this RFP. These plans have been through architectural review and construction should not deviate without written approval from Jamestown Rediscovery and Stemann|Pease Architecture. On-site construction is expected to be less than 30 days and project completed by April 24, 2026.

Preservation Virginia is committed to enhancing and expanding contracting opportunities for small (including micro businesses), women owned, and minority owned (SWaM) businesses as well as businesses owned by service-disabled veterans. SWaM businesses are encouraged to reply to the RFP for services.

The purpose and intent of this RFP is to solicit proposals for professional services. Interested bidders should submit proposals to mlavin@preservationvirginia.org.
