Take home a treasure from our gift shop to remember your time on Jamestown Island! Our gift shops in the Visitor Center and the Archaearium carry reproductions and representations of ceramic vessels, jewelry, and other artifacts based on those unearthed by the archaeologists at the original site of England’s first successful colony in North America. The stores also have a comprehensive collection of books and DVDs summarizing the latest archaeological discoveries or highlighting the lives and contributions people involved in the Jamestown story. There are many ways you can share your new discoveries and experiences at Historic Jamestowne with your friends and family after you return home.
Your purchase also is a vital contribution to continuing Jamestown Rediscovery’s research. Jamestown Rediscovery began in 1994 as part of an independent non-profit and receives no federal or state tax money for its operation. The rest of Jamestown Island has been owned by the National Park Service since the 1930s. The “Jamestown Settlement” living history museum is on the mainland and is operated by the Commonwealth of Virginia. But the archaeological work is supported by your admission ticket, by store sales, and by generous gifts from Americans from all walks of life. You can support us by shopping online, too. Thank you for exploring Jamestown Rediscovery!
