The year is 1795 and the American Revolution is won, but the scars left behind are slow to fade. As Eliza and Polly Ambler meet at Jamestown for a family funeral, the griefs of the present begin to unearth buried troubles of the past. As the sisters reconsider the legacy of liberty and the physical and psychological toll of war, can they reconcile their own ideals with reality?
