Description
Keep your small items organized or decorate with a bit of Jamestown history.
This 4″ round ceramic trinket dish bears the design from a gold signet ring excavated at James Fort in 2008.
The ring depicts a skull with the initials “CL” and the Latin legend “Memento Mori” (“remember thy death”). This symbol was used by Puritans to impress on their followers that they should live a pure, sinless life because they will eventually die and be accountable for what they did in life.
The original artifact is currently on display in the Voorhees Archaearium Museum at Jamestown.
