Reports to: Buildings and Grounds Manager
Salary: $37,440 per year

job summary

The facilities maintenance staff are responsible for the upkeep of 22.5 acres of the Jamestown site, including its landscaping, its historic structures, and its visitor amenities. The ideal candidate will assist with small construction projects, equipment maintenance and repair, and special event support.

job requirements and qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): Valid Virginia driver’s license, OSHA training preferred
Experience: 1-3 years experience in landscaping, grounds-keeping, facilities maintenance, or a combination thereof

  • Self-starter and self-sufficient
  • Weekend work required
  • Some holiday work required
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • We provide safety training and onsite training for job duties.
  • Must be punctual and work as a team

Metrics of performance: Performance evaluations are done when needed or yearly.

Work location: This position requires on-site work at all times. The work location is Jamestown Island.

Position hours, benefits and compensation: The position is a full-time salaried position, 40 hours per week with benefits. Regular work days are Wednesday through Sunday. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, starting at $37,440 annually.
