If your child has ever loved digging or reading stories of buried treasure, bring them to Historic Jamestowne to see archaeology in action. Your family can share in the moment of discovery, witness ongoing excavations and ask questions of the archaeologists as they work!
Engage in hands-on activities at our new Ed Shed, reopening in the spring. This space provides an interactive experience for younger visitors and families including the chance to discover real artifacts just like the archaeologists! During the summer, join other young explorers as they search for clues with our popular Jamestown Adventure booklet series. At other times of year, download this abbreviated version of the treasure hunt to bring with you.
If you cannot make it to the island, we have online activities to dig into the history and science of Jamestown. You can print out colorful posters, get directions to crafts and projects, or research the famous people of early Jamestown for a classroom assignment.
