6:00pm - 8:30pm
Update: The weather is not as sunny as we would like, but tonight’s ShinDIG at Jamestown is still on! The tents are up over the patio and the band will be starting to warm up soon, but we do recommend dressing for the possibility of rainy weather. In the event of thunderstorms, attendees will have the rare opportunity to explore our Archaearium Archaeology museum in the evening. The gates at Historic Jamestowne will open at 5:45 pm and parking is in the Visitor Center lot, where volunteers will be directing guests to the Dale House Café. As a reminder, this event is sold out, so only guests who currently have tickets will be admitted.
Join us on Thursday, September 27, for the Seventh Annual ShinDIG at Jamestown! Guests enjoy an evening of bluegrass music, delicious barbecue, and beautiful views of the James River. All proceeds benefit the Jamestown Rediscovery Project.
The Williamsburg-based “Whoever Shows Up Band”—featuring Emeritus Director of Archaeology and Research, Bill Kelso, on banjo—takes the stage at the Dale House Café at 6:30 pm. Other members of the band are Doug Burgoyne, guitar; Jack Cowardin, fiddle; Rob Foos, dobro; Bobby Hornsby, bass; Rennie Howard, banjo; and Ellen Kelso, bass.
Tickets are $40 per person and include an all-you-can-eat barbecue dinner, with vegeterian options, by Carrot Tree Kitchens. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Gates at Historic Jamestowne open at 5:45pm. The event will be held rain or shine and there will be no refunds unless it is cancelled by the Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation.
