10:00am–4:00pm: The Powhatan Indians
The archaeology from inside the fort site offers evidence that local Native tribes were frequent visitors during the earliest years of the settlement. Join Daniel Firehawk Abbott of the Nanticoke people from Maryland’s Eastern Shore to learn about the material culture and lifeways of the Tidewater Algonquians as well as their interactions with the settlers of Jamestown.

10:00am–4:00pm: Meet Anas Todkill
Meet Anas Todkill, an early colonist who explored the bay with Captain John Smith, and learn firsthand about the trials of the first English settlers and their experiences exploring the Chesapeake.

11:00am–12:00pm: Introduction to Jamestown
Join a Jamestown Rediscovery staff member for an overview of the site where North America’s first successful English colony began. Tour begins at the Tercentennial Monument.

1:00pm–4:00pm: Forged in Iron
Blacksmithing was one of the earliest trades to be practiced at Jamestown. Join blacksmith Steve Mankowski for demonstrations and a discussion of the types of work that went on at the site of the original James Fort forge.
