Bacon’s Rebellion Walking Tour

Location: Program begins at the Pocahontas statue.

Join public historian Mark Summers as he leads a special edition of this guided walking tour about Bacon’s Rebellion. This special tour will explore the causes of the conflict which tore Virginia apart between 1675-1677 and why so many free and enslaved Africans joined Nathaniel Bacon in his efforts to overthrow the Governor.

This tour will also feature renowned historic interpreter Stephen Seals as he portrays an unnamed enslaved man who is promised, but then denied, his freedom.
