“Digging in at Jamestown: Archaeology Season Opening Day” kicks off at 10:00am on Saturday, April 14 at Historic Jamestowne when Jamestown Rediscovery archaeologists officially start the 24th field season.
Visitors can share in moments of new discoveries, meet members of the archaeology team and learn about excavation plans for the 2018 season. Activities will include special children’s programs, tours of the dig site and 17th century historic trades demonstrations by skilled costumed tradesmen. On-going living history presentations will offer perspectives of everyday life for Chesapeake Native Peoples as well as the English colonists who made Jamestown their home.
