All events are free with paid admission to Historic Jamestowne. Outdoor activities are weather-permitting.
2:00pm–4:00pm: Archaeology in Action!
Location: The Angela Site   Category: Archaeology and Exhibits
Meet an archaeologist and witness the moment of discovery at these two active excavations.

2:00pm–3:00pm: First Assembly Walking Tour
Location: Begins at the Tercentennial Monument   Category: Walking Tours
Join a Jamestown Rediscovery educator to learn more about the struggle toward good government, from the chaos of the early fort period to the long lasting effects of the democracy.

2:00am–4:00pm: Dig Box
Location: Near the Ed Shed Category: Children’s Activities
Junior archaeologists can try their hand at digging, and learn more about excavation and artifacts in this simulated site.

2:00pm–5:00pm: Hands on the Past!
Location: The Ed Shed Category: Children’s Activities
Enjoy an array of hands-on activities including mending pottery, screening for artifacts, and “sorting & picking.”

3:00pm–4:00pm: First Africans Walking Tour
Location: Begins at the Tercentennial Monument   Category: Walking Tours
Take a walking tour of New Towne focusing on the arrival of the first Africans to Jamestown in 1619 and the legacies that have endured over 400 years.

4:00pm–5:00pm: Angela’s Story
Location: Benches near the Hunt Shrine   Category: People of the Past
Listen as Angela, one of the first Africans who lived on Jamestown Island, recalls her former home in Angola, her capture, and her new life in Virginia.

8:00pm–10:00pm: Richmond Symphony
Location: Symphony Tent   Category: Special Commemorative Event
Enjoy the Richmond Symphony’s first concert on Jamestown Island during this special evening program. Sponsored by American Evolution, Jamestown Rediscovery, and the National Park Service.
