Helmet Charm

SKU: 60035 Category: Tags: ,

Cabasset, from the Spanish word capacete, meaning “little cap”, was a light helmet that was commonly used in the 16th and 17th centuries by infantry soldiers and light cavalry in Europe.

Inspiration for this charm comes from the first intact 17th century armored helmet discovered at Jamestown. In addition to being the only complete cabasset helmet recovered to date, this helmet was strangely found sitting upright, leading archaeologists to believe it may have been buried intentionally.

This sterling silver charm was made exclusively for APVA by Hand & Hammer Silversmiths.
