position description

Position Summary: The Development Intern performs a variety of general administrative tasks, including group tour and event scheduling, guest and donor correspondence, data analysis and reporting, and other routine duties.

key roles and responsibilities
  • Works directly with guests and fellow staff to prepare custom itineraries and events. 
  • Assists with special onsite programs, tours, and events, occasionally on weekends.  Must be comfortable driving a golf cart.
  • Responsible for invoicing accurately and promptly.  Must be comfortable handling payment information.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of guest and donor information.
  • Independently responds to inquiries by telephone, email, and letter.
  • Creates general correspondence for signature by the Foundation President, Director of Development and other staff in an independent and timely manner.
  • Analyzes complex data sets as assigned, preparing reports and presentations in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Provides general office assistance as needed, including making copies, filing, stuffing envelopes, and other routine duties.
  • Records guest book entries into excel worksheets. 
  • Makes “thank you” phone calls to donors who have recently made gifts.
  • Updates donor records in the development database, including address changes, special requests and notations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
qualifications

Typing skill of at least 60 words per minute accurately; excellent command of English grammar, syntax and spelling; proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with database applications; ability to work independently; demonstrated dependability, punctuality, efficiency and ability to maintain confidentiality.

compensation & schedule

This is a part-time position (no benefits). The general schedule is Monday through Friday, although occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
